Shatter Me (Review #57)

Shatter MeToday’s book is Shatter Me:

Author: Tahereh Mafi

Series: #1 in the Shatter Me Series

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Summary: Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now, so many people are dead, that the survivors are whispering war – and the Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or a warrior.

Why hello! Another amazing book, you ask? Five stars again? All I can say is that BookTube and Instagram are great ways to get good recommendations.

I was thinking…. What if I’d never bought The Selection or Shatter Me? What would have happened to me?

This book was sooo good! I bought a copy of this, enjoyed it loads, then got halfway through and found that the first 3 chapters were printed 4 times over and over again. But, I got another copy sent for free and it was all there! I rushed through, needing a hit off of Adam and Warner and screaming at the pages over the decisions made.

I read this finally in one sitting and devoured each and every word. Tahereh’s writing is so beautifully  written and there is one part that I just needed, so I added it to my list of quotes on my wall…

Apparently, the sequels get better. I don’t know how that is possible, but I’m ready for it. Bring it on.
