Author: Sarah Dessen

Publisher: Penguin Books

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Summary: I’m Annabel. I’m the girl who has it all. Model looks, confidence, a great social life. I’m one of the lucky ones. Aren’t I? My ‘best friend’ is spreading rumours about me. My family is slowly falling apart. It’s turning into a long, lonely summer, full of secrets and silence. But I’ve met this guy who won’t let me hide away. He’s one of those intense types, obsessed with music. He’s determined to make me listen. And he’s determined to make me smile. But can he help me forget what happened the night everything changed?

This book was reality. I think that word sums this whole book up. It has little things that people can relate to and this actually attracts us readers more. Sure, we like to read dystopian books where something could actually happen in the future but having a book that shows what happens in the here and now is great. There’s a phrase: ‘Don’t worry about tomorrow, it’s all about today.’ This is so true and we should be concerned about now not later. We need to tackle things like the ones that do appear in this book. This book shows that even if something bad happens, there’s something that can help in some way. Whether it be friends or getting justice, it can definitely help with everyday issues! The writing was good and another brilliant book from Sarah Dessen…
